Brighton has many steep street inclines and the city spreads over the chalk slopes of the South Downs to the north, whilst the east is fronted by chalk cliffs. Several pubs on the trail are located on steep hills, including Huas On The Hill on Southover Street where the climb up has been described as ‘ear popping’ by those in the know!
